Deja grew up in Sacramento, CA and received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Philosophy from UC Santa Barbara. She moved to Fresno for her Master’s in Social Work program at Fresno State. During her program she was able to connect with programs like Fresno Unified’s African American Academic Acceleration (A4) program, Jewels for Justice, and the Fresno Chapter Association of Black Social Workers (ABSW). These programs gave her the opportunity to learn more about the community and grew her passion to serve in Fresno.
Deja is passionate about serving her community through integrated health care practices like dance, art, play, and talk therapy. She has experience working with all age groups, but has made it a lifelong goal to be a mentor to youth and young adults.
She enjoys brunch, traveling, singing, game nights, and connecting with family and friends. Ella sabe un poco de español, pero necesita practicar y aprender más.
Daniela is a Fresno Native, born and raised. She graduated from Edison High School. For her undergrad she attended Fresno State, and graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. She also graduated with her Masters in Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University.
Daniela is passionate about being culturally aware, and inclusive with diverse communities through mental health. She has experience working with families, couples, and individuals in creating the change they desire to help increase their well-being. She is also enthusiastic about working with the youth to mentor and support their life goals.
In her personal time, she enjoys traveling, singing at church, hiking, dancing and spending time with friends y la familia!
